How To Sell Out

How to sell out and give up your goals and ideals in life:
Step 1: Go to college even if you don't want to and have no idea what you want to do.
Step 2: Get married.
Step 3: Have a child.
Step 4: Have another child.
Step 5: Get a job working for 'The Man'.
Step 6: Buy a house in the suburbs.
Step 7: Have another child.
Step 8: Get a job in management.
Step 9: Get a haircut and remove the ponytail you have had since college.

Two points to this post: one, I have short hair for the first time in almost 2 decades. Second point is that fact that most lists end at an even number so I have at least one more thing to add in the future.

Perhaps the newer generation has learned some things faster than the generation before. I didn't cut my hair until I was over 50.
Maybe having a tween age daughter helps makes you smarter.

Glad to hear about the hair, i just started growing mine back out about a year & 1/2 ago and i wouldn't want people to confuse the two of us, being on different coasts and all.
I find it fascinating how people's attitudes change as the hair gets longer. I got more dap when i was running around w/ stupid punk haircuts. I think there is some underlying assumption that long hair is the product of laziness, although anyone who's had hair past their shoulder blades will tell you it's a part-time job.
Thanks to Mom for a great head of hair!

I kind of miss the hair, but it was more annoying than anything else. Still say I look better with long hair, but right now ease of use is more important than looks.
I agree about peoples attiudes about hair. I will kind of miss being taken as a long haired bum at a store, and not being asked by every sales person if they can help me.
